In Vineyard

100% Cabernet Franc grapes grown from our own vineyards in Pramaggiore.  The vineyard is situated 25 – 40 metres above sea level with medium texture and clayey soil.  Sylvoz is the growing method used.

In Cellar

The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October.  Maceration takes place on the skins at a temperature of 28 °C for approximately 10-12 days in an innovative fermenter called “Ganimede”, the main feature of which is an ability to accumulate the carbon dioxide developed during the must fermentation process.   When appropriately released this will help to achieve optimum, homogeneous racking of the marc without mechanical aids.  At the end of the fermentation process the wine is placed in 700 litre French oak barrels, where it will mature until bottled.

In Tasting

The colour is bright red, acquiring garnet highlights with age.  Intense vinous scent with a typical herbaceous flavour when young, over time it takes on hints of oriental spices and cinnamon.  Elegant, well-balanced and complex on the nose and palate, its structure and tannins add rich personality and a fresh, tonic long aromatic end.

A very elegant red wine with complex nose and flavour, it goes well with poultry, venison, roast meat and hard cheeses.

Cabernet Franc – is one of the major black grape varieties worldwide. It is principally grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux style. Cabernet Franc is lighter than Cabernet Sauvignon, making a bright pale red wine that contributes finesse and lends a peppery perfume to blends with more robust grapes.
DOC – stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata (Denomination of Controlled Origin). DOC wine satisfy a defined quality standard, and be produced within the specified region. To qualify for DOC certification additional more stringent rules regarding permitted grape varieties, harvest yields, minimum ageing including use of barrels, minimum alcohol content, and other factors.
Ai Galli – The farm Azienda Agricola Ai Galli was built about the seventies and now is set in nearly 50 hectares of vineyards, which are all situated in the D.O.C. (controlled designation of origin) Lison-Pramaggiore production area. The production of a wide range of good wines has been more and more appreciated by wine connoisseurs. The awards won in the last years are not final achievements for the company, but a confirmation that the undertaken way is the right one.
Lison-Pramaggiore – is a DOC of the Veneto wine region in northeastern Italy. It covers a wide range of styles including red and white still varietal wines, multivariety blends, spumante and dessert wines. The Lison-Pramaggiore title covers in their entirety half a dozen communes in the Venezia province, one in the Treviso province and three in the aforementioned Pordenone province. A number of other surrounding communes fall partially within the catchment area.
